Conference on flowing waters in Hamburg

05 May 2011 in Hamburg, Germany

Conference on flowing waters in Hamburg

The conference was organized by the NABU (Naturschutzbund Deutschland e.V.) and supported by the WATERPRAXIS project. About 100 participants were informed about the implementation of the Water Framework Directive in the district of the river Alster, about the ecology, fauna and flora as well as ways how the open public can participate in renaturation activities.

The audience consisted of experts from ministries, planning offices, scientists and people from the interested public. Among other newest information about projects around the Alster, a very nice example from public participation in a district of Berlin was presented. The participants were very interested in it and hopefully projects like this will also be planned in the district of the Alster in future.

The presentations (in German language) can be downloaded here: hamburg.nabu.de/projekte/wasser/lebendigealster/.
